Provides financial assistance to help families coping with cancer. To be eligible, you must reside in the state of Michigan, have a household consisting of a parent and at least one dependent child under the age of 18, have an immediate family member in treatment for a cancer diagnosis, and be represented by a health care professional, social worker or financial navigator to begin application process. Application must be received through a hospital social worker or financial navigator.
Eligible expenses are considered to be necessities, including health insurance premiums, mortgage or rent payments, car payments, car insurance, utilities, food and/or fuel costs. New Day does not make payments for medical treatments, prescription drugs, medical co-pays, insurance deductibles, or credit cards (monthly payments or balances) but will work with you to find viable solutions. Payments are made directly to creditors.

A nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. Has online searchable resource database where you can search for numerous types of assistance (financial help, support groups, screenings, etc.).
- Offers Hope Lodge locations throughout the United States that provide cancer patients and their caregivers a free, temporary place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city. Also, offers inexpensive hotel stays through their Hotel Partners Program.
- Offers transportation support through its volunteer program, Road to Recovery, to help patients get to and from treatment.
- Offers wigs, headcovers, mastectomy products, and other items are a lower cost than for-profit organizations through Tender Loving Care.
